Testing the experiment

Since all the electronics and mechanics were finally finished, we could test whether everything would fit together. And it does! On this photo you see how efficient all the space within the box is used for our experiment. During the rest of the day we tested our experiment.

With a thermal camera we took a view at our PCB in the infrared part of the EM spectrum. This kind of photos reveals the hot components of our experiment. Only five minutes after the experiment was turned on, the temperature profile over the PCB was stabilized and we saw a picture as shown below.


Since we definitely do not want to disturb other experiments during the flight, it was required to check whether or not our experiment emits any signal that might interfere with other signals on board. We scanned the whole spectrum but didn't see any peak occurring.
